The deck on our home was original to the house from 1997 and had to go. I'm a retired engineer / commercial contractor and I've had a number of bad experiences contracting repairs or upgrades to my homes, often firing the contractor mid-project and finishing the work myself. I'm new to Minnetonka (moved here from SC) and asked my realtor for reliable deck contractors. I took 4 competitive bids and Tonka Deck / Brewer Built was the high bidder – for a reason. They had the most well thought through approach to make a difficult repair to the rotted supports for my sun room repairs (which involved shoring a cantilevered section of the house) and proposed replacing the deck with superior materials. Their competitors focused on low price, Tonka Deck/Brewer Built focused on quality and durability. From the day I went to contract to final acceptance they EXCEEDED my expectations at every point. I still love to do my own work, but I have a new partner when I begin a project that's too much for me to tackle by myself.

Brewer Built just finished re-building my lakeside deck to remediate multiple problems, including; under-decking water leaks, deck board trip hazards, failed flashing, obvious cosmetic issues, cheap materials and generally poor craftsmanship. Top notch experience in working with Brewer Built on my deck project. Scope was rebuilding existing deck and renovating 3 seasons porch and bringing it back to life. The porch remodel had some twists and turns but the team at Brewer Built continued to be flexible and figure out a solution. Can’t say enough positive things around each and every person I worked with: Bill and Chuck around payment terms and their flexibility on new developments with the project and Dale on the deck build and Dan on the 3 seasons renovation. Very satisfied customer!

Chuck and his team built my deck and they did an amazing job. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of work and the speed at which they completed the project. Demolition of the old deck started on a Tuesday and my deck was completed by Saturday morning the same week! Chuck did a great job of steering us the right direction regarding design. What I appreciate most is that he didn’t try to oversell anything- he told us about parts that needed to be repaired and parts that were ok for use. His team was at our house early in morning and worked tirelessly till the end of the day (some days till 830pm), even on days where it was 90 degrees + outside. If you have any deck rebuilds or other home improvement related projects, I HIGHLY recommend Chuck and his team. I’ll definitely be using them again for future projects.

So happy with our new deck. Great experience from beginning with salesman Bill, deck builder Brian, and overseerer Chuck. They helped us design exactly what we needed, to include rare, wider stairs which are great for pets and elder users.

We had a great experience with Brewer Built adding on stairs to our existing deck. They were transparent with costs and any potential additions. I never felt forced into a specific decision. Their team laid out all of the options with pros/cons and I felt comfortable to make my own choices. Their construction team was effective, diligent, and quick. Brewer Built completed a multi-level custom deck and railing replacement on my home. Chuck and Bill and their team were great to work with! I really appreciated their attention to detail and ability to make solid recommendations on the replacement. The end result is a great looking, updated deck that looks better than the original.
